Research Tips

Often the first step in research is determining what materials the OC library may have on the topic. To do this, use the library's website:library.oc.edu.

The Internet can often provide helpful background information or suggest the relevant sources for your topic. However, you must know the correct search terms and be able to evaluate the sources you find. Not every Internet source is valuable or accurate.

Through the Beam Library, OC students have access to Ebsco databases, which provide countless scholarly articles for your research. By knowing just a few tricks for using these databases, you can find many great sources for your paper or project.
